Enshrouded Assassin build overview
The Enshrouded Assassin build is all about critical hits with bows and daggers, plus better glider efficiency for moving around the map. The biggest 1.0 change for this build is that dagger skills moved from the Warrior tree to the Assassin tree. For the first time, a dagger Assassin can put all of its points in one part of the skill tree.
This 1.0 Assassin guide pairs daggers for close-range crit bursts with a bow for openers. It covers the new crit-based skill path, why Survival Instinct works so well for Shroud exploration, and how to survive in light armor.

What changed for the Assassin in Enshrouded 1.0
Before 1.0, dagger builds had to split points between Warrior and Ranger. With daggers in the Assassin section, crit and dagger nodes are close together, so the build becomes stronger much earlier.
Survival Instinct also counts dagger kills, so Assassins can stay longer in the Shroud than almost any other build.
1.0 skill tree reset
Every character's skill tree was reset at the 1.0 launch on October 15, 2026, and all points were refunded. Re-spend your points before leaving your base. Your character level is kept.
Assassin attribute priority
Attribute points decide how your assassin build scales. Use this priority when you spend points on the skill tree:
| Attribute | Priority | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dexterity | Very high | Crits and dagger/bow damage. |
| Endurance | High | Dodges, sprints and gliding. |
| Constitution | Medium | About 50 health per point. Light armor needs a buffer. |
| Strength / Intelligence | None | Not used. |
Enshrouded Assassin skill tree path (level 1–50)
Below is the recommended assassin skill order for Enshrouded 1.0, split into early, mid and late game. Fill in attribute nodes as you path between these key skills. With the 1.0 level cap at 50 you have more points than in early access, so the late-game tab includes optional flex picks.
- 1
Assassin (archetype node)
Crit focus and glider efficiency.
- 2
Dexterity nodes
Every one along the path.
- 3
Dagger nodes (moved here in 1.0)
Your melee damage.
- 1
Crit chance / crit damage nodes
The core of the build.

Mobility.

Best Assassin gear: weapons, armor, accessories and food
Gear matters as much as skills in Enshrouded. With the 1.0 gear cap raised to 55, always upgrade your main weapon first. Here is the assassin loadout to aim for:
| Slot | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main weapon | Highest-level daggers with crit rolls | Close-range burst. |
| Swap | Bow + Eternal arrows | Openers and ranged targets. |
| Armor | Light set with Dexterity / crit | Mobility and damage. |
| Accessories | Crit chance, crit damage | Stack crits. |
| Food | Dexterity, stamina and health dishes | All three slots. |
How to play the Assassin build
- Open with a charged bow shot on the priority target.
- Close in during its stagger and dump a dagger combo.
- Dodge out before the counterattack. Never stand still.
- Pick off isolated enemies first. Avoid fighting a whole group in melee.
- Use the glider to reposition and to escape.
