Enshrouded Battlemage build overview
The Enshrouded Battlemage build, which many players just call the wand build, mixes ranged magic with close-range survivability. You fire wand projectiles nonstop and keep a shield ready to parry, and your mana refills on its own through Unity and Arcane Deflection. You never really run out of resources, which is why many players think it is the best solo build in Enshrouded.
In 1.0, the Battlemage keeps its core skills (Wand Mastery, Sting, Unity, Life Burst) and gains new options. Wand Evasion Attack fires wider, piercing projectiles, Aerial Wand Attack adds an area attack from the air, and Blast and Cast lets you add a staff for burst. Below is the full 1.0 Battlemage skill order, attribute plan, gear list and rotation.
| Stat | Value |

| Tier (1.0) | S-Tier |

What changed for the Battlemage in Enshrouded 1.0
The 1.0 full release rewards hybrid players. Wand-focused characters got two new wand attacks and a crit-based bridge to staves. The new mage spells, especially Entangle and the summon totems, give the Battlemage crowd control it never had in early access.
The Battlemage holds up better than the pure Wizard because shield parries refund mana and Life Burst adds sustain. You can push into Shroud zones and fight elite packs alone without a healer.
1.0 skill tree reset
Every character's skill tree was reset at the 1.0 launch on October 15, 2026, and all points were refunded. Re-spend your points before leaving your base. Your character level is kept.
Battlemage attribute priority
Attribute points decide how your battlemage build scales. Use this priority when you spend points on the skill tree:
| Attribute | Priority | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligence | Very high | Wand damage scales with Intelligence. |
| Constitution | High | About 50 health per point. You fight closer than a Wizard. |
| Spirit | Medium | About 20 mana per point. Unity covers much of your sustain, so medium is enough. |
| Endurance | Low–Medium | Stamina for blocking, parrying and dodging. |
| Strength / Dexterity | None | Not used. |
Enshrouded Battlemage skill tree path (level 1–50)
Below is the recommended battlemage skill order for Enshrouded 1.0, split into early, mid and late game. Fill in attribute nodes as you path between these key skills. With the 1.0 level cap at 50 you have more points than in early access, so the late-game tab includes optional flex picks.
- 1
Battlemage (archetype node)
Entry to the wand/shield hybrid section.
- 2
Wand Mastery
Chance to fire extra projectiles. Huge early damage increase.
- 3
Sting
Boosts your wand attacks. Pick it up as soon as it is reachable.
- 4
Intelligence + Constitution nodes
Alternate them so you are not fragile.
- 1
Unity
Wand hits can restore mana. This is the reason the build never runs dry.
- 2
Arcane Deflection
Parry → mana. Pairs with a shield.
- 3
Life Burst
Sustain that lets you stay in fights longer.
- 4
Arcane Proliferation
Extra wand value along the Battlemage path.
- 5
Chain Hit (Wizard)
Bouncing wand shots for clearing packs.
- 1
Wand Evasion Attack (new)
Wider piercing projectiles after an evade.
- 2
Aerial Wand Attack (new)
Area wand attack from the air.
- 3
Blink (Wizard)
Optional repositioning if you prefer it to the dodge roll.
- 4
Blast and Cast (new)
Only if you carry a staff for burst windows.
- 5
Spare Constitution / Intelligence
Use the remaining points to round out the build.
Verify in-game
Skill names and positions are taken from the 1.0 launch tree. Keen Games may adjust values in hotfixes, so always check the in-game tooltip before committing your points.
Key Battlemage skills explained
Wand Mastery
Chance for extra projectiles. The single biggest wand damage increase.
Unity
Mana on wand hits. This turns the wand into a perpetual-motion weapon.
Arcane Deflection
Rewards shield parries with mana and works well with a shield in the off-hand.
Wand Evasion Attack
One of the new 1.0 skills: piercing, wider shots that clear lines of enemies.
Best Battlemage gear: weapons, armor, accessories and food
Gear matters as much as skills in Enshrouded. With the 1.0 gear cap raised to 55, always upgrade your main weapon first. Here is the battlemage loadout to aim for:
| Slot | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main weapon | Highest-level wand (fire or shock rolls preferred) | Your only real damage source. Upgrade it first. |
| Off-hand | Shield with good block value | Parries trigger Arcane Deflection. |
| Optional | Staff for Blast and Cast burst | Only if you take Blast and Cast. |
| Armor | Light or medium set with Intelligence + Constitution | Survivability matters more than for a Wizard. |
| Rings / necklace | Magic damage, crit, health | Choose based on your weak point. |
| Food | Health, mana and damage dishes | Keep all three slots filled. |
Best spells & arrows for this build
| Spell / arrow | Use |
|---|---|
| Entangle | Roots enemies so you can keep firing from your spot. |
| Summon Shock / Fire Totem | Extra damage that stays put while you kite. |
| Mana Drain | Backup sustain in long boss fights. |
How to play the Battlemage build
- Start at mid range and hold the attack. Wand Mastery and Chain Hit do the work.
- When an elite swings, parry with the shield for Arcane Deflection mana.
- Drop a totem or Entangle on packs before engaging.
- Use Wand Evasion Attack after a dodge to punish groups that line up.
- Fight from the air with the glider and Aerial Wand Attack when enemies swarm.
Battlemage build pros and cons
Pros
- Near-infinite mana
- Very strong solo
- Easy to learn
- Scales well into 1.0 endgame
Cons
- Lower burst than a pure Wizard
- Parry timing needed for maximum value
- Damage depends on wand level
Common battlemage build mistakes
- Not upgrading the wand. Wand level is your DPS.
- Skipping Constitution because the build "is a mage".
- Ignoring the new 1.0 wand skills after the reset.
Battlemage hybrid builds
Enshrouded has no hard class lock, so the battlemage blends well with other archetypes. These are the best hybrid directions:
