Enshrouded Ranger / Archer Build for 1.0

Weak-point headshots from a long way off, now with infinite Eternal arrows and three new archer skills in 1.0.

Enshrouded Ranger build overview

The Enshrouded Ranger build is the main bow and archery build. The Ranger archetype focuses on bows, extra arrows and bonus damage to enemy weak points, so a good archer can kill most things before they even get close. 1.0 is a big update for archers: three new upgradeable Eternal arrows (Fire, Shock and Bone) and three new skills (Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct).

This 1.0 Ranger guide covers the bow skill order, Dexterity priorities, which Eternal arrows to upgrade first, and how to stay alive at range. It also covers hybrid paths into the Assassin tree for crit-heavy players.

What changed for the Ranger in Enshrouded 1.0

Before 1.0, archers had to worry about arrow crafting. Eternal arrows remove most of that and add elemental options. Puncture increases ranged piercing damage, Barrage gives bow hits a chance to restore durability, and Survival Instinct extends your Shroud timer when you kill Shroud enemies with a bow or dagger.

Exact percentages for Puncture and Barrage had not been confirmed when this page was last updated. Check the in-game tooltip and we will update the numbers once Keen Games publishes them.

1.0 skill tree reset

Every character's skill tree was reset at the 1.0 launch on October 15, 2026, and all points were refunded. Re-spend your points before leaving your base. Your character level is kept.

Ranger attribute priority

Attribute points decide how your ranger build scales. Use this priority when you spend points on the skill tree:

AttributePriorityWhy
DexterityVery highScales bow damage and crits.
ConstitutionMediumAbout 50 health per point. Enough to survive mistakes.
EnduranceMediumDrawing, dodging and gliding.
Strength / IntelligenceNoneNot used.

Enshrouded Ranger skill tree path (level 1–50)

Below is the recommended ranger skill order for Enshrouded 1.0, split into early, mid and late game. Fill in attribute nodes as you path between these key skills. With the 1.0 level cap at 50 you have more points than in early access, so the late-game tab includes optional flex picks.

  1. 1

    Ranger (archetype node)

    Bow focus and weak-point damage.

  2. 2

    Dexterity nodes

    Take them all.

  3. 3

    Ranger extra-arrow nodes

    More arrows per shot.

Verify in-game

Skill names and positions are taken from the 1.0 launch tree. Keen Games may adjust values in hotfixes, so always check the in-game tooltip before committing your points.

Key Ranger skills explained

Puncture

New in 1.0: more ranged piercing damage. The core damage skill.

Barrage

New in 1.0: durability back on hits, so long expeditions need fewer repairs.

Survival Instinct

New in 1.0: more Shroud time from kills. Great for exploring the Shroud.

Ranger weak-point nodes

Bonus damage to weak points. Aim matters.

Best Ranger gear: weapons, armor, accessories and food

Gear matters as much as skills in Enshrouded. With the 1.0 gear cap raised to 55, always upgrade your main weapon first. Here is the ranger loadout to aim for:

Eternal Shock ArrowStrong against groups and shielded enemies.
Eternal Bone ArrowAlternative physical option. Upgrade based on your targets.

How to play the Ranger build

  1. Open from max range with a charged shot on a weak point.
  2. Switch arrow types by enemy instead of using one for everything.
  3. Back off with dodges and the glider. Height is your friend.
  4. Use Survival Instinct to stay longer in deep Shroud zones.
  5. In co-op, focus fire on the target your Tank is holding.
