Enshrouded Tank build overview
The Enshrouded Tank build stacks heavy armor, health and block value so you can stand in front of bosses while your team deals damage. The 1.0 tank builds focus on the Tank (Guardian) section of the Warrior tree: Heavy Plates and Shiny Plates for armor scaling, Tower and Warden for blocking, Nemesis and Arch Nemesis for aggro, and Thick Skin for raw survivability.
A Tank works well solo too. With a heavy mace, Battle Heal and Vigorous Deflection it can clear nearly anything slowly but safely. This page covers both versions: a pure co-op Guardian and a solo-capable Tank/Warrior hybrid.

What changed for the Tank in Enshrouded 1.0
The 1.0 level cap of 50 and gear tier 55 make boss damage spike, so groups need a dedicated frontline more than ever. Many Tank skills were also cheapened or buffed in the 1.0 pass, so you can fit both defense and real damage.
If returning players reset into Tank, they should know that heavy armor scaling skills multiply with the armor value of their gear. Upgrading armor to the new gear cap is worth more for a Tank than for any other build.
1.0 skill tree reset
Every character's skill tree was reset at the 1.0 launch on October 15, 2026, and all points were refunded. Re-spend your points before leaving your base. Your character level is kept.
Tank attribute priority
Attribute points decide how your tank build scales. Use this priority when you spend points on the skill tree:
| Attribute | Priority | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Constitution | Very high | About 50 health per point. Your main stat. |
| Strength | Medium–High | Enough melee damage to keep threat and still kill things solo. |
| Endurance | Medium | Blocking and holding the shield drain stamina. |
| Intelligence | Optional | Some 1.0 Tank guides add it for magic-scaled tank weapons. |
Enshrouded Tank skill tree path (level 1–50)
Below is the recommended tank skill order for Enshrouded 1.0, split into early, mid and late game. Fill in attribute nodes as you path between these key skills. With the 1.0 level cap at 50 you have more points than in early access, so the late-game tab includes optional flex picks.

Opens the Guardian section.
- 2
Constitution nodes
Take a lot of them early.
- 3

Best Tank gear: weapons, armor, accessories and food
Gear matters as much as skills in Enshrouded. With the 1.0 gear cap raised to 55, always upgrade your main weapon first. Here is the tank loadout to aim for:
| Slot | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main weapon | One-handed mace (e.g. the Mace of Wrath, recommended in several 1.0 tank guides) | Stagger and steady damage. |
| Off-hand | Highest-block shield | Your most important item. |
| Armor | Full heavy set (e.g. Crestflame Set) with Constitution bonuses | Set bonus + Heavy Plates scaling. |
| Accessories | Health, armor, block | Defense first. |
| Food | Two health dishes + one stamina dish | Max HP and blocking time. |
How to play the Tank build
- Engage first and hit every enemy once to build aggro with Nemesis.
- Hold block during telegraphed boss combos and parry the last hit.
- Rotate the boss so its back faces your Barbarian, Assassin or Wizard.
- Use Earth Aura when the group stacks up.
- Solo: fight slowly, block everything and let Battle Heal top you up.
Tank build pros and cons

- Forgetting Endurance for blocking
Tank hybrid builds
Enshrouded has no hard class lock, so the tank blends well with other archetypes. These are the best hybrid directions:
